Napping in children was not only beneficial to the fitness course. Research shows children who rarely take a nap tend to have problems running psikososialnya function.

It is the conclusion of researchers who presented at the SLEEP 2009, the annual meeting of the Associated Professional Sleep Societies that take place in Seattle, U.S., last week.

Psychosocial may be defined as matters relating to psychological and social. Psycho, of course, comes from within, while the social aspect comes from outside. Both aspects are very influential in the growth of children.

In their research, experts from Pennsylvania State University examined the impact of a nap at 62, where 23 percent rarely naps.

In general, these two groups of sleep in 24 hours is not much different, but the behavioral tests conducted show a child who rarely nap more likely to have behavioral disorders such as hyperactivity and depression.

"The results of this study is an association between two things. We can not make causal conclusions. So not exactly a hyperactive child and unruly is because they do not take a nap. Still further research is needed," said Dr.Brian Crosby, one a researcher.

Still, Crosby revealed that napping is very important in children who are in a period of growth. Unfortunately, most children over the age of 4 years starting rarely naps.

Lack of child's nap time caused by many things, such as the density of child's activity after school or parents are prohibited because many children who nap it difficult to sleep at night.
